Sonora, CA…Sonora Regional Medical Center’s Hospice of the Sierra will once again host “Dinner With a Doc,” a benefit event on Saturday, February 25 at 5:30 p.m. at Black Oak Casino Resort Hotel, featuring guest chefs and local physicians Jeremiah Fillo, MD and Maryal Concepcion, MD. All proceeds from the dinner will benefit Hospice patients who cannot afford their services.
The evening will include dinner and a cooking demonstration, an address by Hospice Medical Director Matthew Personius, MD, and a raffle drawing. Kathrina McRee, planning committee vice chair, says the event has been very popular and the guest list fills up fast. “Dinner With a Doc is a fun event that benefits an invaluable healthcare service,” she says. “We are so grateful for the continued support of our generous community, and to Drs. Fillo and Concepcion for serving as our guest chefs.”
Hospice of the Sierra treats the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of patients who are no longer receiving curative treatment, by providing support and comfort care in their homes or home-like settings. Hospice works with a team of health-care professionals, volunteers and the patient’s family to help the patient make the most of the time they have.
Dinner With a Doc tickets are available for $60 per person and are limited to the first 160 guests. To purchase a ticket, sponsor a table, or for more information, go to www.sonoramedicalcenter or call the Foundation office at 536-5022.
