Ione,CA…On January 25th approximately 8 p.m. party one was driving a Mercedes Benz westbound on SR-88 approaching the intersection of Buena Vista Road at an unknown speed. Party two was driving a 2014 Toyota was driving eastbound on SR-88 approaching the intersection of Buena Vista Road at 55 miles per hour.

Due to the first drivers level of intoxication the driver attempted to turn left onto Buena Vista Road and traveled directly into the path of the second vehicle. The left front of the Mercedes Benz collided into the left front of the Toyota within the intersection. After the impact the first vehicle came to a rest on its wheels in the eastbound lane facing an easterly direction. The second vehicle came to a rest on its wheels in the eastbound lane facing an easterly direction as well. The collision is still under investigation.
