Sonora, CA…In celebration of National Travel and Tourism Week, The Tuolumne County Visitors Bureau is pleased to announce the Tuolumne County Tourism Summit taking place May 5th from 8:30 am to 4 pm at Best Western Plus Sonora Oaks’ Oak Glen Conference Room. Just in time for the busy summer season, attendees can expect to come away with new ideas on several topics including: Capturing the growing market of people traveling with dogs, how to engage media to promote business, building partnerships with local businesses and organizations and a special session on what’s new in Tuolumne County.
Visit California, California’s destination marketing organization, will give a presentation on their marketing programs and how those programs help local destinations to further promote their brand. Attendees will gain insight on how the Tuolumne County Visitors Bureau connects with Visit California and how that partnership helps tourism in Tuolumne County and the surrounding rural regions of Gold Country and High Sierra.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to attend a session on building a “toolbox” for frontline staff. It will include valuable information on resources for knowing (almost) everything about Tuolumne County and will be led by Karen Foreman, Partnerships and Visitor Services Manager for the Tuolumne County Visitors Bureau.
The event will feature a Cinco de Mayo-inspired lunch. The day will conclude with a Taste of Tuolumne County where attendees can try various products made in Tuolumne County.
The cost for the conference is $50 per attendee and includes lunch. Tuolumne County Visitors Bureau partners can attend for just $35 per attendee. To register or for more information please call the TCVB at 209-533-4420.
