Mountain Ranch, CA…On 04/06/17 at 11:20 AM, the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Whiskey Slide Road north of the intersection of West Murray Creek Road, in Mountain Ranch for an Industrial Accident. A 21-year old male who was employed by a tree cutting contractor was removing an oak tree from a rural property when a limb fell onto his boom truck bucket. The worker sustained major injuries and was unconscious when emergency services arrived. The 21-year old succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The victim’s name is being withheld pending next of kin notification.
