Motorcycle Chase In Sonora Area Leads To Arrest

Sonora, CA…The Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Department released the following on an incident. “On Saturday night just before 11 PM, a traffic stop was initiated on Crystal Falls Drive in Sonora on a 1983 Honda motorcycle for inoperable tail lights. While following the motorcycle, the deputy could see the driver was very unsteady, tipping slightly from left to right and steering all over the road.

The driver later identified as 32 year old David Brock of Sonora, did not pull over for the deputy and made a right turn onto Diablo Court nearly tipping his motorcycle on its side. Brock drove to the end of Diablo Ct. and jumped off the motorcycle before he came to a complete stop. The motorcycle landed on its side and Brock ran up a driveway at the end of the court. Brock ignored all orders from the deputy to stop running. The deputy pursued him on foot which led him to a ravine.

The deputy could hear movement in the brush and with his flashlight could see Brock approximately 40 yards away. The deputy made his way down the ravine and found Brock lying in the creek. A records check revealed he had four local warrants for charges of hit and run property damage, resisting arrest, possession of controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia. Brock is also wanted on a felony warrant out of San Joaquin County for violating his post release supervision terms.

Brock was transported to the hospital to be evaluated by medical personnel prior to booking. He was uncooperative with medical staff and became combative. At one point he admitted to using marijuana and methamphetamine just before the stop. Once medically cleared Brock was booked into the Tuolumne County Jail for his warrants and an additional charge of resisting arrest.
