Roman Kenneth Franklin 1969 – 2018

Angels Camp, CA…Roman Kenneth Franklin entered into rest Sunday, January 14, 2018 at the age of 48. Roman was born in Hayward, California on December 18, 1969. He grew up, with his family, in Angels Camp where he attended Mark Twain Elementary School and Bret Harte High School. Roman was active in his community. He participated in Angeles Ranus 4-H, wrestling, football, and Bret Harte FFA. He was an avid member of Saint Patrick’s church of Angels Camp where he was an alter boy.

Roman exhibited an incomparable work ethic. As a teen, he worked for David Cundiff Cabinetry as well as for the Pepsi Distribution Company both in Angels Camp. He also dabbled in vehicle restoration. Roman graduated from Bret Harte with the class of 1988.

After high school, Roman set off to Redwood City to persue an education in the field of Radiology. He graduated from Cañada School of Radiology in 1991. Then, he began working at Stanford University Medical Center as a Radiological Technician. He quickly became the Radiology Department Manager while continuing his education.

Roman worked tirelessly to build a life that would make anyone proud. While at Stanford, Roman met his former wife. In 1996, they married and a few short years later came their daughter Lauren followed by their son Radford.

Roman led a prosperous career in the medical field before his life what cut short by a sudden illness. Roman will always be loved and remembered by his children Lauren Anna Franklin and Radford John Franklin; his mother Coleen Franklin; his brother John Christian Franklin; his nephews John Duncan and Porter Jack Franklin; his sister Shannon Benge; and his nieces Nicole and Amanda Benge as well as countless aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Roman will be dearly missed by all those lucky enough to have known him. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made on Roman’s behalf to the GoFundMe account in his name.
