I was unable to attend this meeting. I live on Silver Rapids Rd and am not in favor of this plant being approved. After watching all of the citizens and residents of Valley Springs comment on why they also are not in favor of it, and then hearing other people say that asphalt is not harmful because we don’t see people who are working with it using face masks or hazmat suits and that it is used in hospital parking lots and canals, etc., I’d like to ask how long people lived in houses filled with lead and asbestos (without hazmat suits and face masks) before everybody discovered that those chemicals caused cancers and deaths…? It was obvious to me, after watching this, that it wouldn’t matter how many citizens and residents come forward with health and pollution concerns, these folks already have their minds made up. How many of them are residents and have any concerns other than money?
