CHP San Andreas Leads the Way For Christmas for Kaiden

San Andreas, CA…From CHP…”Many of you will remember Kaiden Lund (8) who was involved in a serious traffic collision on December 23, 2018, that took the life of his mother, Chelsea (27). Kaiden received life threatening injuries as a result of being struck head-on by an intoxicated and reckless driver in another vehicle. It is a miracle that Kaiden is still alive after spending 18 days in the hospital, missing Christmas. Officer Colby, with his wife Chelsea, organized a late “Christmas for Kaiden” at his Grandparents home with help from officers and staff of the San Andreas CHP and firefighters from Calaveras Consolidated Fire Department. On January 28, 2019, we delivered toys to Kaiden after giving him a tour of our patrol vehicle. His smile was AWESOME, especially when he used the silly string.

Our goal in telling Kaiden’s story is that you will always keep Kaiden and Chelsea in your thoughts and prayers and help us spread the message that intoxicated and/or reckless driving has lifelong consequences for EVERYONE involved.
A GoFundMe account has been established to help support the family.
