The 2019 Ebbetts Pass Corridor Wildfire Community Preparedness Meeting is May 4th

Arnold, CA…The Annual Arnold & Ebbetts Pass Corridor Wildfire Community Preparedness Meeting. Is Saturday, May 4th, from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM at Independence Hall, 1445 Blagen Road in Arnold. This annual meeting is a great way to raise awareness of wildfire risks in our area and how to mitigate that risk and be prepared in case a fire does threaten our area.

The agenda this year will include information on newly developed evacuation route plans, the new emergency notification system, how 2019 lot inspections will be carried out, and the work being done in and around our community to protect the corridor.

There will be a presentation by Alan Thompson on The Camp Fire, with an emphasis on emergency communications planning and execution that went badly wrong and some suggestions on how to help our communities in the event of similar disasters here.

We will also be showing a film by Kevin White and Stephen Most that has won multiple awards. It is called “Wilder Than Wild – Fire, Forests, and the Future”.

After the presentations you will be encouraged to talk with experts at our “Solution Stations.” We will have insurance representatives, CAL FIRE and Ebbetts Pass Fire District representatives, USFS information on fuel break work in the area, burn permit sign ups, and information about the 2019 inspections.

As in past years, CalWaste will offer a barbecue lunch.

This important meeting helps our HOAs and subdivisions meet the requirements to retain our “Designated FireWise Community” status.

Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend.
