Fire Update…Big Creek Fire Efforts Reach 85% Containment & Resource Drawdown Underway

Groveland, CA…Current Situation on Big Creek Fire. Crews are continuing mop-up and fire suppression repair operations. Demobilization has begun, releasing unneeded fire equipment and personnel. Motorists driving in the area of the fire on Highway 120, especially after dark, are asked to exercise great caution to avoid fire equipment and crews.

Evacuations: Lifted at 6 p.m. 7-30-15, and residents were allowed to return to their homes.

Evacuation Centers: Groveland Community Hall – The evacuation center has been closed

Cooperating Agencies: US Forest Service, Tuolumne County Fire Department, Stanislaus Consolidated, Copperopolis Fire, Central Fire, San Andreas Fire, Georgetown, Diamond Springs, Santa Barbara County, Groveland Community Services District, Lathrop – Manteca, Los Angeles County, Orange County, California Office of Emergency Services, California Department of Corrections, Hetch Hetchy Water and Power, PG&E, California Highway Patrol, Tuolumne County.
