Update: 4:02pm. People have contacted me via Social Media asking about restrictions on personal Travel Trailers and Motorhomes. My best advice is to call the CHP Stockton Division Office at 209-943-8600 or CalTrans at 209-941-6562 for all vehicle size restrictions related to this incident.

Update: 3:07pm 8 6 2015 CalTrans District 10 via Facebook AMADOR COUNTY TRAFFIC ALERT: State Route 88 at Buckhorn, all lanes have been blocked by an overturned big rig. Passenger vehicles are being detoured from Pioneer to Buckhorn Ridge, but this detour is not available to big rigs. Road blocks are in place to the east and west of the incident.
Big rigs should avoid using SR-88 and seek alternate routes to reach their destination. There is no ETO for SR-88 opening.
CRITICAL UPDATE: 2:10PM 8 6 2015 Please slow down in the detour area of this incident. There are many reports via Social Media of people driving in excess of the speed limit and not watching for other traffic.

Update: 9:16pm For tonight plan on using another route if you need to go over the pass. There is a detour in place on Hwy 88 around this incident on one of the main back roads and CalTrans should have the Detour Signs in place by now.(Don’t quote me on that.)

Update: 6:40pm Tractor is upright but Trailer over turned and leaking fuel. They have called this HAZMAT INCIDENT. Traffic being redirected.

9K gallons would be the absolute max for the whole truck, in this case with a set of doubles that one trailer would be around half of that total.
It’s not a set of doubles. That rig is know as a truck & trailer. Truck tank normally 4k of gasoline, 3600 of diesel. Trailer 4800 – 5000. Full load of gasoline = 8700 diesel = 7600.
Thank you initially there was some confusion but we got that worked out. This could have been so much worse than it is now. Glad everybody came through it ok. Well the Road and Soils did not fair so well.
