Oakland, CA…EBMUD wanted you to be aware of updates to our trail access in Calaveras County. The Calaveras County Health Department issued modifications to their Covid-19 Stay at Home Order. The April 29 order clarifies what recreation activities are allowed under certain conditions within the county. In Calaveras County, to limit the spread of Covid-19 and remain in compliance with the State Stay at Home Order.

To clarify, here is a list of the EBMUD trailheads which are currently open:

· Campo Seco Staging Area

· Cooks Mesa Trail Access Point

· Rich Gulch Trail Access Point

· Middle Bar Trail Access Point

Camanche South Shore Staging Area and China Gulch Staging Area remain closed.

· Hiking and equestrian activities are allowed.

· The health order prohibits non-essential travel into the county and permits recreational access to Calaveras County residents only.

· Social distancing of 6’ for trail users is required.

To support the spirit and letter of the orders, EBMUD is reopening closed trail facilities in Calaveras County and requiring proof of residency for all trail users.

EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY: Campo Seco Staging Area is open. Staff will be present at all open trailheads to provide additional information and check residency.
