Tuolumne Country COVID-19 Cases Continue to Surge

Sonora, CA…A total of 17 cases are being reported today, which includes cases of which we were notified over the weekend. 8 Saturday, 4 Sunday, and 5 today. 11 individuals are isolating at home, 2 are in isolation at the county jail (see statement below), 2 have completed their isolation period, and 2 are hospitalized. An additional case that had been in isolation is also now hospitalized. 3 individuals have been moved from isolation to recovered. 1 individual has been reassigned to their county of residence.

The Sheriff’s Department has issued a press release regarding additional cases in the Tuolumne County Jail.

Testing Site
The no-cost state testing site is open at the Calaveras County Fairgrounds Tuesday – Saturday 7am to 7pm. Appointments can be scheduled ahead of time at LHI COVID-19 Testing Registration There may be limited walk-ins available, but appointments are strongly recommended.

Prevention Guidelines
It is important that people continue to follow prevention guidelines to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, including:

o Practice physical distancing at all times. Keep 6 feet space between yourself and others who are not part of your household. Stay in your household bubble!
o Wear a face covering in public.
o Wash your hands thoroughly and frequently.
o Stay home if you are sick.
o Avoid unnecessary travel, and limit your outings to essential tasks.”
