Sonora, CA…The Forest had dozens of lightning strikes over the last 72 hours, see map below, resulting in 13 fires across our higher elevation areas. Four fires are designated either contained/controlled or out. Six fires are currently being monitored, all are under 1/4 acre in size with little potential for growth. Today fire personnel are reconning and responding to 3 new lightning fires, all currently less than 1/4 acre in size.
