MOC Fire Reaches 50% Containment & All Road Closures to be Lifted Wednesday at 6pm

Groveland, CA…Continued threat to approximately 1,500 residences. Threat to critical power and water distribution infrastructure for the City of San Francisco, PG&E and Moccasin Fish Hatchery. The Moc Fire is approximately 2,800 acres with 50% containment. All Evacuation Orders have been lifted as of August 25, 2020 at 8:00 A.M. Beginning Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at 6:00 P.M. all MOC Fire road closures will be lifted to all traffic, in both directions, including Highway 49 and Priest Coulterville Road.

SAFETY MESSAGE: The public is reminded to stay vigilant on current fire conditions. The MOC Fire is still an active incident. Please continue to adhere to road closures and safety advisories. If you see electrical wires on the ground, stay clear and contact PG&E immediately. Please drive slowly and yield to all emergency and safety personnel who will continue to be working in the area for the duration of the incident.
