Position(s): Special Education Paraprofessional
Work Year: 10 Month employee (Full Year = 183 days)
Start Date: 2020-2021 school year
Hours per day: 6.5 hours per day
Salary: Range 7: $16.48-$18.13 p/hour, depending on experience
DESCRIPTION: Under the direct supervision of the Special Education Teacher/Case-Manager, classroom teacher(s), and School Site Administrators/Principal, the Inclusion Paraprofessional will perform necessary duties to assist in the planning and implementation of a program for special needs children in both special education and inclusive settings.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High school diploma. Passing score on the proficiency test or possess an Associate of Arts (AA) Degree or higher or have completed 48 college units. Additional training in child development, special education, disabling conditions, or Autism Spectrum Disorder is desirable.
Experience: Previous experience working with middle school/high school aged students. Experience working with students with ASD preferred. Inclusion experience preferred.
Working Conditions: First Aid and CPR required. New employees have thirty (30) days from the date of appointment to fulfill this requirement.
