Angels Camp, CA…It is not everyday you get a parade, live music & more on your birthday but yesterday was no ordinary birthday for King McPherson. You see, King was born on March 17th, 1917 in Los Angeles. He is 104 and sharp as a tack. (We even heard a rumour he has a new girlfriend). If your attributes of the ideal man include caring for his community and community service Kimg is your man. The Angels-Murphys Rotarian and Sgt of Arms joined Rotary in 1943 and until Covid he went 78 years without ever missing a meeting. Yes that’s right he went longer than most people’s entire life span without missing a meeting. That by itself deserves a parade.

Some of those helping King celebrate his 104th Birthday were members and dignitaries from the Angels-Murphys Rotary Club and Rotary International, Calaveras Sheriff’s Office, Angels Camp Police Department, Angels Camp Fire Department, San Andreas CHP, Staff and management of Foothill Village, Classic vehicle owners, Students at local elementary schools that made banners and placards and and many more.
