Sonora, CA…Fuelwood permits available beginning April 15, 2021. The Stanislaus National Forest will begin issuing fuelwood permits on Thursday, April 15, 2021. For those interested in a fuelwood permit, please call the Fuelwood Permit Request Line at 209-288-6241.

We will not process any requests before April 15, but you may request your fuelwood permit beginning Monday, April 12 by calling the request line. You will need to leave a voicemail with your name and telephone number and a front desk clerk will contact you. We expect a strong response, so please understand we will contact you as soon as possible – you do not need to leave multiple messages.

Due to local mailing constraints, please be aware that you may not receive your permit before the weekend of April 17, because we cannot process requests prior to April 15. We regret any inconvenience but must abide by Forest Service regulations.
