Bear Valley, CA…Want to join me in making a difference? I am tired of waiting for someone else to do something positive in the Bear Valley Village. I dream of building the Bear Valley Pavilion, an ice rink in the winter, the Music Festival venue in the summer, and a wedding and other larger groups venue.
My vision is based upon an existing Pavilion at the Mohonk Mountain Resort in the Hudson Valley NY. I love the architectural style. Their pavilion is also used for a myriad of uses including a music festival and weddings.
My immediate goal is to get this project to a “shovel ready” state while I try to figure out how to get it built. We need to raise enough money to accomplish the architectural, engineering, and Planning steps. This is an approximate $130,000 step. My drive is to get all of this accomplished within one year.
I have engaged both a prominent San Francisco-based architectural firm owned by Bear Valley homeowners and a San Francisco structural engineering firm whose owner has long-running ties to Bear Valley. Together they will ensure our dollars are not wasted.
I have already presented this project in person to the full Alpine County Board of Supervisors who voted unanimously to support the project. We are targeting the County “A” lot where the Music Festival tent already gets erected. We met on site with a representative of the Alpine County Planning department and we investigated 7 other potential sites. None of which checked all of the boxes like the “A” lot. To get a better idea of the size I measured the actual music festival tent.
I’m raising money through the 501c6 Bear Valley Business Association. Any donation will help make an impact. However, at this point, donations are NOT tax-deductible.
There are approximately 760 Bear Valley lot, condo, and home owners. If just 130 families donate $1000 each together we can help make this project a reality. Larger donations are certainly welcome.
Please feel free to contact me to discuss anything about my efforts.
Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
