San Diego, CA…Former San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer – candidate to recall Gavin Newsom – released the following statement calling on Gavin Newsom to follow the CDC’s new guidance and end California’s statewide mask mandate:

“The CDC has now made it clear that masks are no longer necessary for vaccinated individuals while indoors and outdoors. Unfortunately, Gavin Newsom continues to blatantly disregard the CDC’s guidance, forcing businesses and schools to close for months while Californians pay the price. It’s time for him to finally follow the science. We shouldn’t wait until June 15 while other states are showing they can safely return to normalcy now. I am calling on Newsom to immediately end California’s mask mandates and allow our state to take a vital step to reopening fully.”
