Amador County Moves to Yellow Tier

Amador County, CA…Amador County Public Health reports 10 more cases of COVID-19 since last Tuesday’s update, bringing the total laboratory confirmed case count to 1,786. The new cases include 7males and 3 females, 2 children under age 18, 3 aged 18-49, 2 aged 50-64, 3 over 65 years of age; 3 residents of Jackson, 5 living in Plymouth, 1 in Pine Grove and 1 residing in Sutter Creek/Amador City. Two Amador residents are currently hospitalized.

Tomorrow, Amador County moves to the least restrictive yellow (minimal risk) tier within California’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy. Businesses and events may reference California’s Blueprint for Safer Economy Activity and Business Tiers chart for the latest guidance by tier and sector. Advancement to the yellow tier means increased capacity for indoor activities and businesses, along with increased outdoor capacity limits for gatherings, private events and community sporting events. California has provided additional guidance for gatherings and events. This gathering guidance may be found on the California Department of Public Health website.

Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine eligibility has expanded to include those age 12 and above. Amador has multiple options for COVID-19 vaccination within the county and surrounding areas. To find a COVID-19 vaccine appointment at nearby pharmacies, visit the Vaccines.gov website. The map is searchable by vaccine brand and zip code, up to a 50-mile radius. Jackson CVS, Safeway, Walgreens, and Walmart pharmacies are offering COVID-19 vaccine by appointment. Vaccine appointments are scheduled via their respective websites. Residents may also reach out to their health care provider to inquire if vaccine is available within their health care system.

All Amador County residents and visitors are encouraged to do their part in order to stay safe and stay open. All who want to be immunized should make a vaccination appointment by visiting the Amador COVID-19 Vaccine Information website or the Vaccines.gov website. Yesterday, California issued a statement reflecting the plan to implement the CDC masking recommendation for fully vaccinated people on June 15, 2021.
