Water, Power & Goat Crossings from UWPA

Murphys, CA…Goat crossing! One of the most unique features of the UWPA system is Ross Reservoir. The dam you see captured was built with stones by miners in the late 1890’s to create a 100-acre-foot reservoir. Visible from French Gulch Road, it is now used to regulate the water for UWPA’s Angels Powerhouse and deliveries to the City of Angels water treatment plant for consumptive use. And by the looks of it, the goats are getting their own use out of the sturdy dam!
