Angels Camp, CA…At the time of this collision, SR-4 was closed due to a solo vehicle collision. Traffic control had been in place for approximately 5-10 minutes. An Angels Camp woman and a Copperopolis Woman were stopped in traffic, with Party 2 stopped directly behind Party 3. The collision occurred when Party 1 a Murphys woman was traveling in a 2006 Chevy on SR-4 just east of Stallion Way approaching stopped traffic. The Murphys woman’s attention was diverted towards the fireman that was holding the stop sign (in order to stop traffic). Due to her inattention, she failed to notice the traffic stopped directly ahead of her location.

Subsequently, the front end of vehicle 1 collided with the back end of vehicle 2. The impact vehicle 2 received pushed it into the westbound lane where it came to a stop. Vehicle 1 continued in motion and the front end collided with the right rear of vehicle 3. When vehicle 1 collided with vehicle 3 it caused vehicle 3 to spin clockwise and again the front end of vehicle 1 collided with the right side of vehicle 3.

Alcohol and/or Drugs are not considered a factor in this collision.
