Sonora, CA…As many of you recall, the Crystal Falls Lake was drained in late April after detectives obtained leads related to Troy Galloway’s disappearance. Two weeks ago, detectives began the search of the lakebed. After a search spanning six days, no human remains were found. The search included an ROV submersible sonar scan when the lake was full, Ground Penetrating Radar and a digging operation.

The operation was meaningful and took many people from our great community and surrounding areas to complete. We are grateful for our community partnerships and want to show our appreciation to everyone who helped make this happen.

Black Oak Casino: Donated rooms and dinners for volunteers.
Outpost: Breakfast and lunch for volunteers.
Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office: ROV Scan.
Chico State University Anthropology Division: Provided Anthropologists and volunteers to help with the excavation.
Safeway: provided beverages for the workers.
Fish and Wildlife: Helping our office obtain clearance to drain the lake.
