Angels Camp, CA…The Beth E. Childs/Genna Hurst Renewable Scholarship administered by CCF was awarded recently. The 2021 CCF Scholarship Committee is proud to award this 4-year $4,000 renewable scholarship to Calaveras High School student, Karsyn Miller. The Childs/Hurst scholarship is awarded annually to a graduating student residing in the West Point/Wilseyville area.
Karsyn has maintained a 3.7 GPA throughout her high school years and plans
to become a registered nurse. She plans to begin her college career at Sacramento City College and will then transfer to U.C. Davis. Her passion to help others will be well served in her career choice.
During her high school years, Karsyn was very involved in Future Farmers of America (FFA) where she learned valuable tools including collaboration, teamwork and leadership skills. Being Captain of the Swim Team all 4 years and Captain of the Water Polo Team, for three years, demonstrates what a fine leader she is. All that involvement and Karsyn found time to work at a local restaurant and became the Crew Member Trainer.
CCF is confident that Karsyn will approach her college years with the same determination that she has shown during her high school years at Calaveras High School. Congratulations and Good Luck, Karsyn!
