Twain Harte, CA…Last Friday afternoon, deputies responded to Joaquin Gully Road in Twain Harte for a report of a suspicious man sitting in his vehicle with a firearm lying on the center console. When deputies arrived, they located the responsible’ s vehicle, unoccupied. While inspecting the vehicle, they noticed tape was placed on the front license plate, obstructing the ability to read it, and the rear license plate had an additional license plate taped over it.
As deputies were attempting to determine who the vehicle belonged to, a man wearing a bandana over his face was spotted approaching the deputies. The man, later identified as 34-year-old Matthew Richison of Columbia, was carrying a plastic grocery bag and matched the description provided by the reporting person. When Richison saw the deputies, he attempted to walk away. Deputies were able to catch up to Richison and detain him.
A record check on Richison determined he was wanted on felony warrants and was prohibited from possessing firearms. Deputies searched Richinson’s grocery bag and located a loaded, 9mm, semi-automatic pistol. Also, inside the grocery bag were several Zip Tie style handcuffs, gloves, and another bandanna. Richison had approximately three grams of heroin in his pocket and drug paraphernalia inside his vehicle.
Richison was arrested and booked into the county jail on firearm and drug related charges in addition to his felony warrants.
