Jackson, CA…On Wednesday November 3, 2021, at approximately 9:15 am, the Jackson Police Department was dispatched to vehicle vs. pedestrian collision in the area of the Highway 49 and Highway 88 intersection. Upon arrival, a 73-year-old female (name being withheld pending next of kin notification) was found deceased in the roadway.

The driver of the vehicle, Tyler Alexander Harrison, remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation. Initial investigation shows the female pedestrian was attempting to cross Highway 49 westbound when she stepped into the crosswalk directly in the path of a 2019 Kenworth truck driven by Harrison, who was negotiating a right turn from Highway 88 onto northbound Highway 49.
