Cassina High Student Arrested After Threat of School Shooting

Sonora, CA…A student at Cassina High School has been arrested for making threats against the school and other students. At approximately 12:24 pm Friday the Police Department was notified by school administration that a student had made threats to commit a shooting on campus. During the course of the investigation, officers developed probable cause to arrest the 17-year-old on suspicion of felony criminal threats. No weapons were found on the student during a search.

The student’s motives for making the threats are not clear at this point, and we will not be releasing any specific details in order to maintain the integrity of the investigation.
