Hey Good People!! Bluebird Days & Pow on the Way for Pure Mountain Fun at Bear Valley!

Bear Valley, CA…Hey Good People! Mattly’s weather forecast for Saturday morning. A stellar day of sunshine and great skiing & riding are on tap once again! Currently the temperature is 33F at 5am as inversion conditions are in effect with the town of Bear Valley showing temps in the mid to high teens at this time also. The high looks to drop down to 28F during the day today with south winds coming into play in the teens and gusting into the 20’s. Monday still looks to be a sunny day before things ramp up again for more snowfall this week. Ensemble guidance is showing a strong system to arrive late Monday, early Tuesday morning.

So…….let’s talk weather shop for the coming week(s). Cold air from the gulf of AK will arrive with the system come Tuesday dropping snow levels down to the 3000′ to start with. 6-12″ could fall Tuesday night as the system ha slowed a bit which loosely translates to more time for over water trajectory amplification. We could see 1-2′ Fall between Wednesday into Thursday followed by a very active weather pattern into the coming weekend and beyond. 5-6′ could certainly fall between now and the 27th of December.

Here is what The Dweebs are seeing……..”Questions remains, what happens after the Christmas weekend. Will the long wave progress into the Great Basin turning the pattern drier with modified Arctic Air, or will the Eastern Pacific Ridge retrograde again, backing westward to get it going all over again!. There is no clear answer at this time. The drier scenario brings some really cold weather with snowfall that is not so extreme for a time, before we ridge up up around New Years. The Retrogression scenario shows us how deep the rabbit will hole go with massive amounts of snowfall with no sense of end in sight”.

Many laughed at my 400″ season prediction 2 months ago…..let’s hope it still rings true for the season! Stay tuned.
Pure Mtn Fun is our ethos so come on up and check us out.

We look forward to skiing and riding with all ya’ll very soon.
Cheers,
Mattly
