Hey Good People!! A White Christmas of Pure Mountain Fun Awaits at Bear Valley!

Bear Valley, CA…Hey Good People! Mattly’s weather forecast for Wednesday morning. Lite snowfall is currently happening as the day begins to wake at 5am. Heavy snowfall is expected to start today with 5-9″ of new snow looking to drop during the day as winds increase with the surface gradients tightening up. Expect winds out of the SSW in the upper teens/20’s and gusting into the upper 30’s. Winds will increase overnight by an average of 10mph, gusting into the 40’s with 9-13″ of new snow falling tonight. A warm front ahead of this system will bring snow levels up to the 6500′ elevation range initially then start to lower over the next 24hrs or so to around 4000′. Cold air from the Gulf of AK will inject itself into the system by Thursday bringing snow elevations down to the 3000′ level and finishing possibly down to 1500′ by the weekend and into next week.

A note on snow totals currently projected for South of I-80. Thursday-17-23″, Thursday night-11-17″, Friday-7-11″,Friday night-9-13″. Christmas Day through Tuesday, expect heavy snowfall and totals to be nailed down a bit better tomorrow. The 2nd wave begins Saturday bringing another possible 3-4’+ by Tuesday evening 28th Dec. As we close in on the New Year, colder temps look to drop down into the West Coast with a very good possibility of inside slider activity moving into the New Year and on into the first week or so of January.

Many laughed at my 400″ season prediction 2 months ago…..let’s hope it still rings true for the season! Stay tuned.

Pure Mtn Fun is our ethos so come on up and check us out.
We look forward to skiing and riding with all ya’ll very soon.

Cheers,
Mattly
