Groveland, CA…On Monday February 21st at about 7:30 in the evening deputies responded to Clements Road in Groveland for a report of domestic violence. Once on scene, deputies spoke to a victim with multiple injuries who told Deputies 36-year-old Jordan Gaestel was intoxicated and had physically attacked her. The victim told deputies during an argument Gaestel punched her, held a knife to her throat, drug her by her hair, struck her with a frying pan and choked her to the point she lost consciousness. The victim said Gaestel told her she could not leave and threatened to kill her at different times throughout the incident, causing her to fear for her life. The victim was luckily able to escape to a neighboring residence where she called for help.
Deputies located Gaestel hiding upstairs at the location the crime had occurred. Gaestel was arrested and booked into the Dambacher Detention Center on charges of attempted murder, criminal threats, assault with a deadly weapon, false imprisonment, kidnapping and infliction of violence on a domestic partner.
