San Andreas, CA…290 Properties Cleared of Burn Debris. 126 Properties have Soil Sample Results Approved. Weather permitting, work will continue on Monday, January 4, 2016. For those not participating in the State/County debris removal program, detailed information is available for self-certification of debris removal from their property. Documents can be downloaded from www.butte.calaverasgov.us. Property owners who missed the official deadline to sign up for the Right-of-Entry (ROE) program, additional properties are being considered on a case-by-case basis. 290 properties in the debris removal program have now been cleared of burn debris by 32 crews in the western and central Jesus Maria areas, as well as in the Old Gulch, Wendell, Moke Hill, East Murray Creek, Avenue A, Whiskey Slide, Hawver and Glencoe areas. 126 properties in the program have returned soil sample results that confirm adequacy of comprehensive debris removal. NOTE: Residents are reminded that dust and ash may contain concentrated levels of heavy metals, asbestos, and other harmful materials and care should be taken to minimize contact and exposures.
Erosion control measures have begun on cleared properties and erosion control has been completed on 11 sites. Activities include the assessment and design of site-specific erosion control measures and placement of straw wattles on properties, with some hydro-seeding to begin once a substantial number of sites have been prepared.
