Burson, CA…Firefighters from Calaveras Consolidated, CalFire, Clements and Mokelumne Hill responded to a fully involved structure fire in Burson off of Parsons Rd. The fire was reported at 1:50 pm and was fully-involved on arrival. After knocking down the fire, an imminent warning for a tornado was reported in the direct area. All first responders were required to take cover in their apparatus until the storm front passed through.
The family had lost their pet dog in the fire and firefighters buried it near the home site. An adult male received minor burns to the forehead and was treated on scene and did not want to be transported. Red Cross was on scene and providing aid for two adult victims.
Cause of the fire is under investigation. A very unusual day battling a fire with an imminent threat of a tornado by the National Weather Service!
