Valley Springs, CA…On May 15 at about 1:35AM a citizen activated 911 to report an unknown female attempting to break in to their residence. Deputies responded to the 3000 block of Burson Rd, Burson, to initiate an investigation. Upon deputies arrival, they located suspect Tammy Marie Youtsey, age 34, of San Andreas, on the ground with her hands secured behind her back with an extension cord.
The homeowner explained the sound of breaking glass awoke them. When they investigated, they observed suspect Tammy Youtsey attempting to crawl through a damaged window. The resident yelled at the female to leave. However, she eventually made entry into the residence. The homeowner tried to prevent the suspect from continuing further into the house by grabbing her and pulling her to the nearest door. Suspect Tammy physically resisted the homeowner’s efforts to get her out of the house. The homeowner was able to eventually subdue the suspect and move her outside onto the front porch. The homeowner locked the front door. Suspect Tammy walked to the back of the house and kicked in the rear door. The homeowner again attempted to physically restrain suspect Tammy. Again, the homeowner was able to subdue her and remove her from the house. The homeowner used an extension cord to secure her hands behind her back until law enforcement arrived.
The deputies took Suspect Tammy into custody and transported her to the Calaveras County jail for booking. Suspect Tammy was charged with 460 (A) PC burglary (felony) and 594 (B)(1) PC Vandalism (felony). Bail set at $45,000.00.
On May 15 at about 6:30 PM, deputies were dispatched to the report of a burglary in progress in the 11,000 block of Navajo Way, Burson. The reporting party noticed several suspicious vehicles at a residence and notified the Sheriff’s Office. Upon arrival, deputies located Andrea Lynn Tate, 38 years of age, Burson, and Brant Alan Steiger, 45 years of age Valley Springs inside the residence. Deputies took both suspects into custody without incident. While searching Brant Steiger, deputies located suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in his clothing.
During the investigation, Steiger told deputies he was at the residence with the homeowners’ permission. The homeowner was out of the area however, deputies were able to contact them by telephone. The homeowner advised the deputies they did not know either of the suspects and never permitted them to be at the residence.
Both suspects were arrested and transported the Calaveras County Jail for booking.
Suspect Brant Alan Steiger was charged with 460 (A) PC burglary (felony), 594 (B)(1) PC Vandalism (felony), 182 (A)(1)PC conspiracy to commit crime (felony), 11364H&S possession of controlled substance (misdemeanor), and 11364 H&S possession of drug paraphernalia (Misdemeanor. He’s being held with the bail of $45,000.
Andreas Lynn Tate was charged with 460 (A) PC burglary (felony), 594 (B)(1) PC Vandalism (felony) and 182 (A)(1)PC conspiracy to commit crime (felony).
There is no further information regarding these two cases at this time. They are both under investigation.
