Sonora, CA…On November 29, 2022, at approximately 8:11pm, Sonora area CHP was advised that the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office was in pursuit of a recently stolen vehicle out of Sonora. CHP was requested to take over primary in the pursuit and at approximately 8:23pm, a CHP unit took over on westbound Tuolumne Road North, near Portofino Road. The stolen Jeep Cherokee led officers on an approximately 15-minute pursuit through Tuolumne County with speeds in excess of 85 miles per hour.

The Jeep eventually came to a stop on State Route 108, west of Peaceful Oak. CHP officers detained the driver who was identified as 35-year-old Ryan Bonnett of Reno, NV. He was placed under arrest and booked into the Tuolumne County Jail for Felony evading, possession of a stolen vehicle and possession of stolen property.
