Wallace, CA…On April 22, 2023, at approximately 1127 hours, the California Highway Patrol was dispatched to a collision on State Route 12 (SR-12) at Southworth Road. A 50 year old Valley Springs man was riding his Harley Davidson westbound on SR-12 at a high rate of speed approaching Southworth Road, to the rear of a Landrover. A 38 year old Valley Springs man was driving his Landrover westbound on SR-12 and slowed to make a left turn onto Southworth Road.

The rider of the Harley Davidson drove into the eastbound lane in an effort to pass the Landrover at the same time The 38 year old Valley Springs man turned the Landrover to the left toward Southworth Road. As a result, the front of the motorcycle collided into the left side of the Landrover.

The motorcycle rider sustained fatal injuries and the driver of the Landrover sustained major injuries. The collision is still under investigation.
