San Andreas, CA…Calaveras County Public Health is proud to announce the installation of a groundbreaking Public Health Vending Machine, generously sponsored by Anthem. This initiative aims to provide accessible resources and support to the community, promoting overall health and well-being.
Located within the Calaveras County Health and Human Services Building at 509 E Saint Charles Street, San Andreas, the vending machine will offer a range of no-cost, essential items tailored to various health needs. From hygiene kits to summer safety kits, COVID-19 test kits, oral health kits, and tobacco quit kits, the machine is stocked with supplies to address diverse public health concerns.
Notably, the vending machine will also dispense Narcan, a life-saving medication used to reverse opioid overdoses. This addition is intended to help fight the local opioid crisis and ensures that vital resources are readily available to those who need them most.
“We are thrilled to introduce this innovative resource to the residents of Calaveras County,” said Cori Allen, Calaveras County Health and Human Services Agency Director. “This resource allows us to expand access to critical public health supplies and support services, empowering individuals to take proactive steps towards improving their well-being.”
The Public Health Vending Machine will be accessible to the public starting February 23rd, 2024, during regular business hours at the Calaveras County Health and Human Services Building. This initiative represents a significant milestone in our ongoing efforts to enhance community health and resilience.
