Pinecrest, CA…Last night around 5:55 PM, an alert citizen spotted what he believed to be human remains in the area of Highway 108 and Old Strawberry Road in Pinecrest and called the Sheriff’s Office. Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Deputies and Detectives responded to the scene and confirmed the remains were human.

The remains were collected and have not yet been identified. We have no further information to release at this time. This is a sensitive and ongoing investigation and more details will be released at a later time when confirmed.
