Valley Springs, CA…On 06-01-2016 Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office deputies eradicated 3,536 marijuana plants from a rural private property off of Hogan Dam Road between Copperopolis and Valley Springs. A local property owner called the Sheriff’s Office after finding two subjects trespassing on the private property. Sheriff’s Investigators then conducted aerial reconnaissance of the area and confirmed marijuana was being cultivated on the land.

This morning Sheriff’s Investigators served a search warrant at the property and located several illegal plots of growing marijuana and campsites. No suspects were located and the investigation is ongoing. Investigators did find a Mexican national identification card for a Hispanic male subject at one of the campsites as well as several air powered pellet guns.
