Mark Twain Medical Center Announces New President

San Andreas, CA, June 6, 2016- Mark Twain Medical Center, (MTMC) through its affiliation with Dignity Health, are extremely pleased to announce that Robert Diehl will be joining Dignity Health as President of Mark Twain Medical Center, beginning June 13. “Bob Diehl has the background, talent, personality and presence to continue to make our hospital one of the most successful community critical access hospitals in the state,” stated Dr. William Griffin, chief of staff and chair of Mark Twain Medical Center Corporate Board. “We are looking forward to his imminent arrival.”

At Mark Twain Medical Center, Bob will work closely with the hospital and medical staff leadership
team on all aspects of hospital operations as he builds on Mark Twain’s rich history of excellence and
service as a critical access hospital serving all of Calaveras County. He will also oversee care and
operations at the five county medical centers and four specialty care centers that support the hospital’s
outreach.

of Calaveras County and beyond.”

Diehl has over 23 years of experience as professional healthcare leader and is coming from St. Joseph
Health System, a California-based integrated Catholic health care delivery system, where he held
positions of progressive responsibility over 12 years. Most recently, he served as vice president,
Operations for Queen of the Valley Medical Center in Napa, Calif. with oversight of ancillary and
support services departments for the 205-bed acute care facility. During his career, Bob has also worked
at Lakewood Regional Medical Center and Whittier Hospital in Lakewood and Whittier, Calif., and
consulted for the health care practice of Cap Gemini Ernst & Young.

Diehl holds both a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Health Administration from
University of Southern California. He is a graduate of the Ministry Leadership Center in Sacramento and
GreenBelt Certified in Lean management practices.

He has a wife, Susan; and a son, Penn. Diehl’s’ son is currently a sophomore at St. Mary’s College in
Moraga. Susan and Bob will make their home in Angels Camp.
