San Andreas, CA…In Calaveras County, 3 people were arrested by the CHP between 6:00 pm Friday and 11:59 pm Monday. 2 were arrested for DUI while 1 was arrested for possession of a controlled substance. The San Andreas Officers handled 6 accidents during this time period and wrote 62 citations. Most were for speeding including several mechanical violations.

On Monday, July 4, 2016, the San Andreas Area office conducted a Sobriety/Driver License Checkpoint on State Route 49 in San Andreas between the hours of 7 pm and 12:00 am. A total of 481 vehicles were screened and fortunately everyone was driving sober. Unfortunately 3 people received citations for driving on a suspended license and 1 person for driving unlicensed.
