Murphys, CA….A San Andreas man was driving a 2001 Honda Passport eastbound on SR-4 east of Northwood Drive at 50 miles per hour. A deer ran from the left side of the road, across the westbound lane and into the eastbound lane. He observed the deer in his path and applied the brakes, but was unable to avoid a collision and the right front of the Honda struck the deer. The San Andreas man lost control of this vehicle and it traveled onto the south shoulder. The Honda traveled up the dirt embankment, causing the vehicle to overturn and come to rest in the the roadway, blocking the eastbound lane.
Alcohol/drugs are not a factor in this collision. He was transported to Mark Twain Medical Center with minor injuries.
