Forty years old this year, The Sonora Bach Festival is a month-long series of concerts and events in the foothills of the California. Concerts happen each weekend in October and feature classical music performed by local youth, accomplished local adults and guest professionals. Events include concerts in some of Sonora’s most charming churches and homes. The festival provides a variety of events that provide a broad and unique experience for patrons: formal and informal concerts; opportunities for youth development; educational and historical presentations; opportunities to showcase our fine, local talent; the inspiration of outside professionals; and the pairing of fine music with fine food. Seating for the festival, because of the nature of small, rural towns like ours, is intimate- with great sight lines and close proximity of the audience to the performers. Tickets prices are deliberately kept affordable to make attending concerts, such as these, attractive and accessible to our local community; donations help to subsidize those prices. The festival is a pleasure for the audiences and the performers and enriches our community at many different levels.

The Local’s Concert will take place on October 23rd at the Church Of The 49ers in Columbia, California at 3:00 p.m.
