December 2016 Calendar of Activities
Mondays, December 5, 19: Daytime Writers Unlimited Meetings in Angels Camp at MAE from 10 am – 1 pm. Share work, prose and poetry, with fellow writers. Craft sharing, resources, editing by colleagues all available. Writing exercise warm up: 30 minutes. FREE.
Mondays, December 12, 26: Evening Writers Unlimited Meetings in Angels Camp at MAE from 6:30-9:30 pm. Come early at 5 pm for the writer schmooze. Bring a bite to share for sustenance. Share work, prose and poetry, with fellow writers. Craft sharing, resources, editing by colleagues all available. FREE.
Thursdays, December 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 am – noon-ish. TWAIN TALKS with Jim Fletcher, historian and author of Mark Twain’s 88 Days in the Mother Lode, who shares historical information about Mark Twain’s life, particularly the short time Twain spent in the Mother Lode. FREE.

Thursday, December 29, 1-3pm: Animal Watercolor Class for Youth
Ages 7 and up with Manzanita Arts Emporium watercolor artist Selma Sattin.
Class enrollment is limited to 8 students, so call 209-728-6171 to reserve a spot.
Bring watercolor and brushes, or they can be provided. Fee: $15.

Saturday, January 14, WordPress Boot Camp website building class with Linda Lee. $70. Maximum of 8 participants. Contact MAE at 209-728-6171 to reserve a spot.

Sunday, January 15: Deadline for Out of the Fire art, photo and writing submissions for print collection – see website for guidelines – release date of publication: April 2017
Thursdays, February 16, 23 and March 7, 9 from 6 to 8 pm: The Power of Filmic Technique in Fiction Writing with Sally Kaplan. Four Thursdays for $200. This 4-session class explores and builds upon techniques to inspire and improve your fiction writing.
Winter Hours: MAE will close on Tuesdays and Wednesdays throughout January and February. Regular hours resume in March.
