Bear Valley, CA…With their Thanksgiving Weekend opening the Bear Valley operations team proved their commitment to being a premier, family friendly resort. Their investments in state of the art snowmaking equipment have proved that in good snow years and in not so good snow years they provide great snow conditions and one of the longest ski seasons in the industry. In fact last year they were the last resort in the nation to hold a NASTAR race.
Bear Valley’s snow product manager Tim Schimke now has the latest snowmaking equipment to augment his natural instincts for what it takes to make Bear Valley ski with the best of them. Tim has Bear Valley firmly in his DNA as his Grandfather was one of the driving forces in Bear Valley’s creation over 50 years ago. He has grown up on these slopes, raced on these slopes and literally knows where every hill, bump, rock or stump is and just how many inches of snow is needed to maximise the results.
In the off season Bear Valley has also made improvements in the snowsports education areas as well. The latest coaching, certifications and approaches to what it takes to develop the skills for a lifetime of fun on the slopes. Bear Valley’s development programs have quite a pedigree with former and two current US Ski Team members having spent their formative years at Bear Valley.
To say Bear Valley is a family resort can sound cliche or marketing speak but in Bear’s case it is true as many of the name tags you will see on team members represent families that have been working and enjoying these slopes for decades and some since the beginning.
Bear Valley is a special place. On winter weekends after a fresh snow it is transformed into another world. In Bear Valley you won’t find casinos or shopping malls to “augment” the mountain experience. In Bear Valley the mountains are the experience.
