UCCE Master Gardeners Table Grapes & Olives Class

Jackson, CA…Grapes and olives grow well in the foothills. The local weather and soils seem to agree with them as these crops have a long history in the area. Join the UCCE Master Gardeners of Amador County on February 4, 2017 at the “Table Grapes and Olives” class to learn how to add table grapes and olives to your home garden or orchard. Backyard grapevines can provide a variety of tasty grapes as well as shade, while olive trees add color and texture to the landscape along with a useful fruit.

The class will provide information on site selection, planting, irrigation, fertilizers and harvesting table grapes and olives. Proper training and pruning methods including first and second year pruning will also be discussed. . Hand-outs will be available. The class is free and open to the public. No reservations are required. All classes are held in the GSA building at 12200-B Airport Rd. in Jackson from 9am to Noon.
