Angels Camp, CA…A generous donation from the Federlein Family Fund at the San Francisco Community Foundation, in honor of Lloyd Federlein, has allowed funds to be distributed to Calaveras County food pantries, the Calaveras Senior Center and the Calaveras Humane Society. These surprise grants are designated to benefit our County’s senior population.
Thirteen local food pantries received surprise grant funds. With the holidays looming, there is always increased need for food supplies. The community food pantries are located in Arnold, Angels Camp, Copperopolis, Mokelumne Hill, Mountain Ranch, and Valley Springs.
The Calaveras Senior Center, located in San Andreas, received funds to support its services to seniors. The Calaveras Senior Center offers a place for local residents to have a good meal, chat, play cards and make use of the many available services for seniors.
The Calaveras Humane Society received funds to help our County’s seniors pay for veterinary services, including dental care, for their companion animals. Companion animals play a very important role in the lives of many seniors, and the inability to pay for needed veterinary services often forces seniors to make difficult choices.
The Calaveras Community Foundation (CCF), is a non-profit 501c3 corporation dedicated to improving Calaveras communities by providing grants to partner organizations, assisting donors and providing leadership in addressing charitable causes.
