San Andreas, CA…Neil Hjelmervik started leading the choir at San Andreas Community Covenant Church in 1990 and became the Music Minister in 2005. After many years of faithful service Hjelmervik has decided it is time to let another lead the music at SACCC. With family spread out across the country the freedom to travel and visit them is a joy that Hjelmervik is looking forward to.

Hjelmervik started working in the Calaveras Unified School District in 1968 and served in many different capacities from 1968 to 2005. His passion for the music in Calaveras County continues on as he has been a major organizer in the Calaveras Has Talent show that has brought in funds for the school’s music program and awareness to the quality of musical talent in the county.

On Sunday, January 22nd, during the 10:00 am Worship Service Hjelmervik will be honored for his service at the church over the many years. Even before leading the choir he was a member of the choir from 1980 till 1990. During the service some will be sharing about their connection to Hjelmervik during his years of service.
