GABA Rolls Into 2017 With New Leadership in Arnold Business Community

Arnold, CA…GABA, the Greater Arnold Business Association, is forging into 2017 with a renewed spirit of service to its members and the community. Several roles have changed for 2017. Bob Doten, a local realtor and GABA president for 2012-2013, resumes the helm as president while Arnold Postmaster Linda Baker takes the job of vice president.
Continuing as treasurer is Debbie Bertini, co-owner of Bertini Mechanical and P&D Builders. Owner of Dorrington Realty Linda Payton has assumed the duty of secretary.

Front, L-R are Debbie Bertini, Tami Schaner and Linda Payton. Back, L-R are Bruce Rohrer, Maureen Dinnocenzo, Mike Borean, Linda Baker and Bob Doten.

Baker remarked, “As president for 2016, it is my honor to transfer the leadership to Bob. GABA has made tremendous efforts to develop marketing events in Arnold and as president, Bob will bring new vision and direction to maintain and expand on these goals.”

Ongoing directors include owner of Above & Beyond Travel Maureen Dinnocenzo, local home designer Mike Borean and marketing professional Tami Schaner. In addition, Arnold Ace Home Center Manager Bruce Rohrer has rejoined the board. There remains a vacancy for a ninth director.

“We reorganized the board in a way to better capitalize on each other’s skills and the time they have to engage in their respective duties,” said Doten. “We also selected Tami to serve as communications director, tackling the sometimes daunting task of managing ComeToArnold.com, our newsletter and social media.”

Summer concerts, the annual car show and the Independence Day parade will continue this year and the website ComeToArnold.com is being overhauled to be mobile-friendly.

ComeToArnold.com is a site from which visitors have been discovering where to stay, play, shop and dine. About 80% of the people that use ComeToArnold.com access it from the San Francisco Bay Area. Because of that, the site has been particularly beneficial to local businesses that have little or no presence on the internet.

“About 70% of the homes in Arnold, Dorrington and Camp Connell are second homes or rentals, which illustrates that ours is a family vacation community,” notes Doten. “We will always strive to serve our business members, yet we also want to collaborate with the entire community toward making the greater Arnold area more attractive for visitors.”
