Kitten Season Kicks Off Early

San Andreas, CA…our kitten season has officially begun here at your Calaveras Humane Society, earlier than we’d hoped — but we just can’t turn away babies in need.

We were alerted by our friends at Calaveras Veterinary Hospital when a mother cat was tragically killed by a car, leaving these three-week-old babies orphaned.

They’re now in the capable hands of one of our very best foster volunteers, who reports that all three are bottle-feeding enthusiastically and even using their tiny litterbox.

The trio will be available for adoption, individually or together, at our Arnold Cat Adoption Center in just a few weeks, once they grow a bit more and have been spayed and neutered.

Drive safely out there, everyone — the critters crossing our highways have families too.

If you’d like to make a contribution to offset the Calaveras Humane Society’s costs of taking in, fostering, treating and placing neonatal kittens (we expect to have MANY of them this season!), please do so via our donation page.

We also love donations through our Amazon Wish List. We’re in need of kitten formula, bottles, and more for the oodles of underage kittens we will provide care for this year.

We also accept donations of dry and canned kitten food at our San Andreas office anytime during our open hours.

It takes a village to save our region’s animals, and we appreciate any and all assistance!
